Diabetes is of two types they are diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus. Diabetes is a metabolic disorder caused by insufficient production of insulin produced by the gland called pancreas. Anti diuretic hormone, insulin is responsible for the absorption of glucose into the cells to generate energy, if the production of insulin is less, energy produced will be low and so diabetic patients are found to be dull and sleepy. Defects caused due to the deficiency of insulin are less synthesis of insulin from the beta cells. Let us now study about the types of diabetes.
Types of diabetes mellitus are1. Insulin-dependent type.2. Non-insulin dependent.
Reasons and causes for diabetes - Diabetes is mainly caused due to various reasons such as viral infection that damages the pancreas causing the deficiency of insulin, obesity (major cause) leading to development of non-insulin dependent diabetes.
